Jerusalem Report
from the founder of the Jerusalem Prayer Team

Mike Evans and Benjamin Netanyahu

Dear Art,

My dear friend, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, met with President Barack Obama yesterday. I have been in Washington in the midst of his visit as your ambassador.

President Obama is trying to use his popularity to pressure Israel into a two-state solution. Liberal Democrats believe Obama, not Israel, can accomplish it. Their slogan is “root for Obama, not Netanyahu. Don’t be intimidated by Israel; stand up!” The president has made it abundantly clear that he is going to change the 42-year status quo. Please read my article on this matter; it is very serious.

I am greatly concerned that Israel is again being used as the scapegoat to appease Arab rage in the Middle East. Israel is being backed into a corner in order to allow the U.S. to solidify ties with the Arab countries which surround it.

In fact, President Obama’s June 4th message of reconciliation to the Arab world will be delivered from Egypt, and Hosni Mubarak is gloating over the president’s selection of a venue. "Many capitals in the Islamic world throughout Africa and Asia would have been happy to have been chosen by Obama. The selection of Cairo affirms the fact that Egypt... is the heart of the Arab and Islamic worlds. And she is the voice of wisdom and reason that has helped the region overcome crises," said Osama Saraya, editor-in-chief, in Egypt’s Al-Ahram newspaper.
The Egyptians are not the only Middle Easterners captivated by Barack Obama. Many embrace the comments made by one Cairo bookstore owner who said, “We, in Egypt, love him…he is a just man and does not differentiate between religions.”

President Obama has indicated he might be prepared to link Israel’s behavior during the peace process with the considerable aid the U.S. gives to Israel. He said that what the U.S. can do regarding the Palestinian/Israeli peacemaking efforts is to create the conditions and atmosphere and provide the help and assistance that facilitates an agreement. In other words, the thumb screws are about to turn on U.S./Israel policies that have existed since Harry Truman signed the document recognizing Israel as a state.

Please don’t miss my Friday update. It will contain an overview of the events in Washington, D.C. this week, and will reveal just how the EU, the UN, and the Arab world are working to box Israel into an untenable situation. As a friend of Israel, I am deeply concerned about the events that are taking shape and their affect on Israel’s future. Please pray for the Jewish people. Please stand with me in defense of the Jewish people. Please let your voice be heard in support of the Jewish people.

Thank you for caring.

Your ambassador to Jerusalem,

Mike Evans
