ISRAEL: The key to Obama's peace!

At a recent meeting in Washington, D.C., White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel declared that Israel was at a crossroads and must make some hard decisions. He reiterated that the U.S. was totally committed to the prospect of a two-state solution between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. Emanuel said this was a moment of truth for Israel. He stressed that both sides must acquiesce, no matter how hard the resolution. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and National Security Adviser Gen. James Jones have delivered comparable messages.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had been informed that he needs to bring to his meeting with President Obama later this month a “serious plan for peace.” The intimation is that Mr. Netanyahu would be wasting Obama’s precious time if he were to do any less. The U.S., EU, UN, Russia, Saudi Arabia, and other entities have determined that the only solution is the establishment of a neighboring Palestinian state (which Fatah or Hamas?).

It seems not to matter to the world-at-large that Israel is surrounded by terrorist states that live to see Israel’s demise. The State Department seems intent on backing Netanyahu into a corner and insisting that he kowtow to the politically powerful and internationally accepted Mr. Obama.

It has been ten years since the Oslo Accords deadline for “an Israeli-Palestinian final-status agreement” passed. Netanyahu, prime minister at that time, is being coerced to take advantage of a missed opportunity to further appease the Arab world and the Palestinians…that is, if his only thought is appeasement, and not the welfare of the Jewish people and the State of Israel. However concerned Mr. Netanyahu might be about the growing threat of a nuclear-armed Iran, any help on the U.S. part may be dangled as blackmail to insure his cooperation with the plan to establish a Palestinian state and divide Jerusalem.

Shortly, I will be going to Israel. I will be meeting with numerous diplomats while there. As a Jerusalem Prayer Team member, I will be in Israel representing you as your ambassador. In recent weeks, I’ve been your ambassador at the U.N. General Assembly in Geneva at the Durban Review II Conference standing up to Iranian President Ahmadinejad in the General Assembly.
