STAND WITH ISRAEL IN 2010

Dear Friends of Israel,

As 2009 comes to a close, StandWithUs can proudly look back on a year of energetic and innovative work to live up to the promise of "Never Again."

During 2009, silence was not an option. Israel and Jews faced a rising tide of attacks on all fronts, as the line between anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism continued to blur. Iran continued, unchecked, its anti- Jewish, anti-Israel genocidal tirades, its race to build nuclear weapons, and its financial and military support of Hezbollah and Hamas, its proxies on Israel's borders. The propaganda war that demonizes and delegitimizes Israel edged further into the mainstream on campuses, in communities and in the international media, culminating in the scurrilous UN Goldstone Report. Anti-Israel activists got bolder. They increased their efforts to try to turn Israel into a pariah state, shunned by the world by trying to import the decades-old, extremist academic, cultural, and economic boycott of Israel. Spain, the first government to succumb, expelled Israel's Ariel University Center from the 2010 European Solar Decathlon. We promised to fight anti-Israel boycott efforts, and we did. We produced effective counter-materials for Israel's supporters to use during "Israel Apartheid Week." When Spain abruptly expelled Israel's Ariel University from the US-co-sponsored 2010 Solar Decathlon, we mobilized. We launched a petition and a letter-writing campaign to deliver letters to all officials associated with the Decathlon.
